
With the aim of integrating all the requirements in one concentrated zone to make schooling more fun and worthwhile, premier computer school AMA has proposed to develop the AMA University Town in Silang, Cavite. This master planned development is in patterned after Harvard University of the United States.
The Proposed Lyceum of the Philippines – Laguna is situated on approximately 14 hectares of land situated in the City of Calamba in the Province of Laguna.
Malayan Colleges Laguna, Inc. is the initial venture of the Mapua Institute of Technology outside of Metro Manila.
The division in Laguna aims to realize Malayan Colleges’ plans of expanding its academic programs to be eligible for university status. It will house Engineering and Technology programs geared for global competitiveness as well as relevance to local needs.
The project creates a sense of place – a dynamic and compact center that will evolve and will be maintained by its inhabitants. It will have an easily accessible central core of community involvement, adjoined with landmarks and boundaries that willprovide a sense of place and orientation.
The site, however, will not only cater to students, as a mixed-use concept will be constructed. It will serve as a gateway to residential communities by developing a vibrant campus-oriented, high-quality retail center and other service facilities that will blend with the surrounding community. It intends to develop an outward focus in the development that will link major arteries and create a pedestrian friendly atmosphere by providing campus plazas and park amenities.
Persian architecture is the dominant architectural style in Iran. It is characterized by pointed arches and architectural elements predominant in the neighboring countries of Assyria, Egypt, and Ionian Greece. With the idea of coming up with something unique, memorable, and identifiable design, Palafox Associates has thought of fusing architectural elements endemic to Far East such as that of Taiwan. Thus, with such introduction, innovation in design is met – Persian-Oriental architecture, Far Eastern meets Mid-Eastern.
The idea of fusing Far Eastern elements into Persian architecture has been conceptualized after Tzu Chi Foundation – a philanthropic organization that traces its roots in Taiwan – the proponent in the relief operation of those affected by the devastating December 2003 earthquake.
